. . . They have concrete steps with a bannister, about every 200 yrds or so, that go down from the the bank and into the river. Basically, you get in yr trunks or what-have-you and put yr clothes etc in this bag that zips up. (hence River BAGGING) Then, you sling the bag over yr shoulder, go down the steps until yr up to yr thighs in freezing cold alpine gush and dive out into the current. You then get pulled along amidst the beautiful scenery and just, kinda, floaty-bob along. It's fucking great. Last we saw of Gary was him clinging, all spluttery, to a strangers dinghy, trying not to drown. Apparently, Liam nearly killed himself trying to do it all pissed up on booze a coupla years ago. So here's me and our Swiss compatriot preparing for the big event. Do this before you die. Didz x

Ok. This is one of the best things to do if it's boiling hot in the swiss town of bern. Theformidable Reine runs down from the alps in a shallow, rocky fashion. It flows really fast. Not like rapids. Not that treacherous, but fast enough to be pretty scarey. . . (continues)
