I had a Lightspeed Champion show and Princess Leia was already taken,so I went for Han. At first they were going to give me random jedi,which I was not happy about AT ALL. It is marked in my book under 'grudges to keep'.

Our Tour Damager is a good time guy. Apparently his best day in America was meeting Hank Sinatra in Austin, but I wasn't there so he could be lying.

This one was ridiculous. We drank free cocktails and almost got blown into one of two pools. Later we played a pretty boring real gig in a real venue and went to a restaurant called Spaghetti Warehouse. That's right, Warehouse.

We played at a shop and the backstage was the staff green room which which was basically the room from Empire Records. The people who worked there were pretty much the cast of Empire Records. I was so excited I didn't eat my jelly beans.

The Bowery Ballroom

We played at the Bowery Ballroom with a band called the Pigeon Detectives, and a band called Your Vegas, neither of which were from America. You can take the band out of Camden, but it will find you.

Things we discovered on tour:

1 - boys need straighteners too
2 - euan looks good when vomiting out of a moving car
3 - you can be cold for ages and you probably won't die

Everybody went out after the Liverpool show but I stayed in at our friend Bernie's to get an early night. Unfortunately I ended up getting to sleep later than everybody else because I discovered a tiny hat, and spent two hours making stuff look like Euan. The best results were with this kettle, as you can see. The band Islands were staying here also one night but why take photos of a really cool exotic indie band when you can put tiny hats on teapots. NB Bernie's cat sooty does not like having a tiny hat on his head

We hitched a lift to our Liverpool show with Arcadia, a really nice rock band from Australia. They're on tour with Jimmy Eat World. We kind of wish we were too. They're with our tour manager for another two weeks. We kind of wish we were too.
