An end to a beginning

An end to a beginning
An end to a beginning
An end to a beginning
An end to a beginning

the first european, uk and japanese leg of the tour has finally ended.  touring is so bitter sweet.  for the grass is always greener.  while i was on tour i longed for the day i would be back home with ali and my dog just lying around the house watching classic films.  well now that i am here i long for the days of being backstage with sean, kevin, gruff and cate laughing about some random, mundane incident that no one else would find funny.  we had a great time on tour and i miss everyone.  the fans, artist liaisons, translators, security, techs, other bands, etc.

we had some massive highs and massive lows in the past two months.  including being nominated for the mercury prized.  wow.  crazy eh?  and of course the now highly documented and completely blown of proportion brawl in somerset between johnny lydon's friends and kele.  meeting bjork was a big one for me.  i don't get star struck but i absolutely adore her to the fullest and her presence is massive, so i found my self lost for words when mark bell introduced us.  gruff bringing mali on tour was amazing and a first for us all.  glastonbury and fuji rock were a fucking blast . . . well most of the shows were a blast but at the moment these two stick out.  hanging around london getting into trouble with sean and his friends was loads of good fun.  so yeah, many many good days.  more ahead as well.

we will be back in london for the mercury awards on sept. 9th and then shortly taking the road again hitting australia, the u.k. and the good ol' u.s. of a.  keep an eye out here and on our myspace page www.myspace.com/neonx2 for more info.  here are some photos of the past few months.  enjoy.

Today is a G-Day

Today is a G-Day

Sorry it has taken ages to update this blog.  I am learning that Blogging takes a lot of time and effort, both of which I don't have at the moment.

Today is Gruff's B-Day!  Happy Birthday Gruff!

Where do i begin?  We have had some amazing shows recently around Europe and the U.K.  We had a long week off where we all went our separate ways.  I flew off to Barcelona to Dj at Razzmatazz and then to Paris the next night at Showcase.  Both were great gigs with even better people taking care of me.  The best part was hanging with an old friend, Teki from TTC, in paris and sipping some fine champagne.  Oh and the strange cowgirl and white horse performance in Barcelona.

and oh, and i met Chaka Khan and her first words were "I know you, where do I know you from?".  just sayin' sometimes mistaken identity rules.  hard.

and Sean, Sean and I survived the Blood Shots at Garlic and Shots.  Amazing.

and Har Mar and I saw Ice Cube in London!

Last night I missed out on a drinking competition the band decided to conduct.  It involved drinking enough jugs of Hoegaarden to earn a beach towel from the bar tender . . . um we ended up with 7.  I think i may be glad i slept through that one.  I had been up 2 full days in a row and was going crazy mentally.  As soon as we finished press at the Dour festival it was lights out for me.

Tonight is our first night at Summercase in Madrid.  We meet up with close friends Mogwai to celebrate the birth of our favorite Welshman, Gruff.
