According to reports in today's News Of The World, Kurt Cobain's ashes have been stolen from Courtney Love's Los Angeles home. Speaking to the paper, the Nirvana frontman's widow stated "I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me. I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do." The ashes (the location of which has previously been kept a secret) have allegedly been stolen along with a lock of his hair and some clothes and jewellery.
London based rockers – and busy Royal Artist Club bloggers – Royworld release their much anticipated debut album today (June 2nd). Entitled Man In The Machine, the album takes its cues from the likes of Talking Heads, Roxy Music, Kate Bush and Queen but with a healthy dose of Sparks thrown in for good measure.
3 years after that band broke up, Dirty Pretty Things talk candidly to The Independent about what their band has become, the importance of their fans and how their sound has evolved through the Libertines hangover.

Anthony Kiedis and co have decided to take more than a brief hiatus with the announcement that they are to disband for at least a year. Speaking to Rolling Stone, the singer explained that they were exhausted after a hectic schedule that covered their last three albums and would like to "live and breathe and eat and learn new things." Kiedis plans to spend more time with his family while Flea and John Frusciante are planning to work on alternative music projects.
Royal Artist Club bloggers Lex Records are (after a lengthy hiatus) to host the latest instalment of their excellent series of Solexism parties. With a killer line-up including Willie Isz (aka Jneiro Jarel and Khujo Goodie of Goodie Mob), italo monsters Heartbreak and forthcoming bloggers Neon Neon, this party is not to be missed. Proceedings will take place on Sunday July 6th at Hearn Street Car Park, London, EC2A 3LS, UK. Buy tickets here.
Royal Artist Club bloggers Booka Shade have kept their nose to the grindstone recently, working on their new album. But all the hard work has finally paid off with the new LP – entitled The Sun & The Neon Light – completed and scheduled for release on May 26th via Get Physical (co-run by Booka and fellow bloggers M.A.N.D.Y.).
It's been five long years since the metal titans released their last album (2003's underwhelming St. Anger). But as they gear up for the September release of their latest opus, they have decided to let fans in on some behind-the-scenes action. Mission: Metallica – a new website launched by the band – provides fans with fly-on-the-wall footage of the writing and recording process, exclusive photos and excerpts of the new LP as well as various competitions that can be entered. One of which includes the chance to win backstage passes to EVERY show on their forthcoming tour – which I for one will certainly be entering, but only if they promise to summon the spirit of Cliff Burton and play all the tracks from Kill 'Em All, Puppets and Lightning.
Royal Artist Club bloggers Scooter have stormed the UK charts (and bagged their first British number one) with their latest album Jumping All Over The World – their first release in the UK since 2002. The surprise success from the German techno outfit has knocked Madonna's Hard Candy off the coveted top spot.
